How to Find the Journal Tyne Theatre

How to get there by Car or Coach

The Journal Tyne Theatre is minutes away from the A1, take the A184 signposted 'City Centre' and follow that road, which becomes the A189, and leads into St James Boulevard. This will bring you to a right turn (Nexus Building) onto Westgate Road A186, where the Theatre is situated on the right hand side.

Public Transport

Take a local bus or Metro service to either St James Park or the Central Station and The Journal Tyne Theatre is approximately 2-3 minutes walk away. All public transport information is available from the Nexus website or traveline on 0871 200 22 33.

Car Parking

As The Journal Tyne Theatre is situated in the City Centre there is limited parking . However as it is now managed by SMG Europe, who also manage the Metro Radio Arena, there will be car parking ‘free of charge’ in the Arena Car Park. Even when an event is taking place at the Arena, simply show your event tickets for the Theatre, and you will be admitted to the car park free.

To get to this car park take the A184 signposted ‘City Centre’ from the A1 and follow the A189 over the Redheugh bridge. Follow the signs to the Arena Car Park.

Alternatively, the Grainger Town Car Park is also located close to the Theatre.

Taxi

Taxi ranks can be found at either St James Park or Central Station. Taxis will not be able to collect from directly outside the Theatre.
